What are Text Ads?
Text ads are tiny non-obtrusive ads. Text ads tell their advertising message with text as opposed to graphics.

What are Banner Ads?
Banner ads is a generic term for advertisements which contain graphics. Typically the graphic ads appear on the tops and right hand side of Roadfly pages.

What types of ads can I use with AdMarket?
Currently Roadfly AdMarket works with plain text, freeform html ads, jpeg, gif, png, and flash graphic ads.

What is AdMarket?
AdMarket is Roadfly's proprietary technology used to display ads in our Automotive Message Forums. AdMarket ads are easy to use and don't require any special web knowledge or graphics software experience. AdMarket ads can be text only, graphics only or a combination of the two.

What does Beta Mean?
Beta refers to the development stage of the software. There are features of the software which we are still developing which may or may not be available at any given time. The core of the software is very stable. We encourage feedback on our AdMarket technology. Please email charlie@roadfly.com with any suggestions or problems you're experiencing.

How much does it cost?
AdMarket incorporates a system which allows advertisers to pay per click, pay for the number of ads displayed or pay on a daily basis. The advertiser gets to choose the best solution for their budget. If budgeting isn't a primary concern you may want to only pay for those potential customers who click on your ad. If you want to have better control over your budget you may choose to fix the cost at $5 day for example. Whichever method you choose the goal is for AdMarket to remain flexible to meet your marketing goals.

How much money do I need to get started?
You can start with only a $50 deposit into your account.

How do I pay Roadfly for my ads?
You pay for your ads with your credit card. You have the option to automatically replenish your account when the balance gets low or you can let the ads expire. Roadfly doesn't issue refunds or credits for money deposited into your AdMarket account.

Is AdMarket easy to use?
AdMarket was developed with the direct mail and small business advertiser in mind and offers ultimate flexibility. Your ads can be as simple as a couple lines of intriguing text or they can be complex with flash based graphical ads surrounded by text. Different advertisers have different needs and goals and AdMarket has been designed to handle anything an advertiser wants.

Where do I go for help if I get stuck?
If you're having problems administering your account, creating ads or things just aren't working the way you expect please email charlie@roadfly.com. Either Charlie or someone else will get back to you as quickly as they can.

What is a zone?
A zone can be a group of forums or one individual forum. For example we have a Current BMW Models Zone which allows your ads to appear on all current model BMWs. You could, however, chose individual current BMW models if you didn't want to advertise in all of the current BMW model forums.

I want a bigger ad? How do I make my ad bigger?
The best way to achieve a larger ad is to buy multiple ads in the same zone. It is a well documented fact that consumers react to repetition so having two ads is better than one larger ad.

Why are there so many Display Ad Zones and only one Text Ad Zone and one URL Ad Zone?
Display Ad Zones are based on a "Cost per Day" payment method and therefore are targeted using a different method.

I want to pay on a daily basis but I don't have a graphic. Can I still place an ad in a Cost per Day Zone?
Yes, the Roadfly AdMarket system is highly flexible so you can place an ad without an image and either chose to not add one at all or add one at your own convenience. The ad will be live on the forums with or without an image.

I just placed my keyword targeted ad but it's not appearing?
If you're ads are CPC ads and therefore require keywords, your ads will not appear online until you've selected and added at least one keyword for each ad. To assign keywords to one of your ads click the "Ads" tab above, then select the ad in question from your ad list, then click the "Keywords" link in yellow. Finally, you must select a keyword from the dropdown menu in the "Add Keywords" section and then click the "Add Keyword" button on the right.

How do I make my ad appear first?
All AdMarket is essentially an auction system. If you bid the most your ad is first in the series. Ads are sorted by Display Ads first, Text Ads second, and URL Ads, third. A URL Ad can never appear above a Text Ad and likewise a Text Ad can never appear above a Display Ad. Buying more zones outranks auction bids so somebody that buys all the Roadfly Forums appears above somebody who only buys all Jaguar Forums.

How do I delete an ad?
I see where to pause the ad but there's no delete button. You must email webmaster@roadfly.com and an admin will delete the ad for you. Keep in mind once an add is deleted, all history of it is deleted as well. Pausing it is an effective archiving mechanism, when an Admin deletes the ad all history and records of the ad are gone and there are no backups at that point.
